Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy outlines the proper use of Quixly services. All customers must comply with this policy to maintain service access.
2. Prohibited Activities
2.1 Illegal Activities
- Using services for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
- Transmitting, distributing, or storing illegal content
- Attempting to access systems or networks without authorization
- Violating intellectual property rights
2.2 Network Abuse
- Activities that disrupt network users, services, or equipment
- Denial of Service (DoS) attacks
- Port scanning or network probing without authorization
- Packet sniffing or monitoring network traffic
- Circumventing user authentication or security measures
2.3 Email and Messaging
- Sending unsolicited bulk email (spam)
- Email bombing or mail flooding
- Forging email headers or sender information
- Operating email lists without proper opt-in procedures
- Sending emails that violate anti-spam legislation
2.4 Content Restrictions
- Hosting or transmitting child exploitation material
- Distributing malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Phishing or fraudulent activities
- Content that infringes copyright or trademark
- Hosting pirated software or media
3. Bandwidth and Resource Usage
- Residential plans are for personal household use only
- Business plans allow commercial use as specified in the service agreement
- Excessive bandwidth use may be subject to traffic management
- Running public servers on residential plans is prohibited without authorization
- Cryptocurrency mining is prohibited on all plans unless explicitly authorized
4. Network Security
You are responsible for the security of your connection and devices. This includes:
- Keeping equipment and software up to date with security patches
- Using strong passwords and protecting login credentials
- Securing wireless networks with appropriate encryption
- Promptly reporting any security incidents or compromised systems
5. Infrastructure Management Services
When Quixly manages your existing infrastructure:
- You must provide accurate information about your systems
- Access credentials must be kept current and secure
- Changes to managed systems must be coordinated with our team
- You remain responsible for data backup outside of our backup services
6. Monitoring and Enforcement
We reserve the right to monitor network traffic to ensure compliance with this policy and to protect our network. We do not monitor content except as required for technical operations or as required by law.
7. Violation Response
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- Warning notification
- Temporary service suspension
- Permanent service termination
- Legal action in cases of serious violations
- Reporting to law enforcement when required
8. Reporting Violations
To report violations of this policy, contact abuse@quixly.ca with detailed information about the incident.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy as needed. Changes will be posted on our website with the updated effective date. Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
